Lykke Li and Drake - A Little Bit

Life Lesson: Its ok to be only a little bit in love :)

Tomorrow marks the start of the trial for the students dubbed as the ‘Irvine 11’. The 11 Sourthern California college students are being tried for 2 misdemeanor counts. This is truely a threat to freedom of speech everywhere. Some of these students had family, directly killed at the hands for the Israeli government, and for them to sit quietly is not only an injustice to themselves, but to the memory of their loved ones. After months of deliberations, the official start date of the trial is tomorrow in Santa Ana, California. If you can attend please do. If not, then please keep them in your prayers and PLEASE tell everyone you know about this injustice and this waste of taxpayers money.

P.S Whenever I watch this video I think about how making this video is one of my biggest accomplishments lol :3

This defines my summer. We don’t take ourselves seriously. But we should SERIOUSLY be on an album cover QUICK

proud.

These days all I have to do is log into faceboook, tumblr or twitter to be inspired. And these inspirations are coming to me from my peers. The amount of knowledge pouring out of these amazing human beings is humbling to say the least. With so many of my friends starting to wear the hijab, tweeting revolutionary type things, or just inviting me to random speak-outs or even starting organizations dedicated to the betterment of the world; I just feel so proud! Such a simple emotion but one that makes me melt at the thought of where we have been as a community, where people said we were going to be, and where we are going. More than anything though, it humbles me to think of the people that inspire me; which truely is a blessing from Allah swt. One of the biggest tests of being an activist is that constant battle with your ego; and I am not safe from that nor or any of us. Therefore knowing that there are so many people more amazing than me, quels the fiery temptation of my ego and makes my swell with pride that I am able to even call myself part of their community. Next time somone inspires you, makes you think, or just awes you with their presences; make a short prayer for them. And next time someone compliments you, or you feel that ego of yours acting up again recite the dua that Abu Bakr (May Allah swt be pleased with him) would say after he was praised.

O Allah, make me better than what they think of me, and forgive me for what they do not know about me, and do not take me to account for what they say about me.

Ameen. Fight on

Best Summer Vacation Story Ever of the Day: Meet Chris Jeon: A 21-year-old UCLA math major who flew to Libya to fight alongside the rebels on a whim.
“At spring break I told my friends a ‘sick’ vacation would be to come here and fight with the rebels,” he told Christian Science Monitor correspondent Kristen Chick.
Jeon says he purchased an $800 one-way ticket to Cairo, then snuck across the border into Libya. Because he doesn’t speak a lick of Arabic, Jeon has relied on sign language and broken Italian to communicate with his new-found brothers-in-arms.
As for the rebels, they’ve welcomed the foreigner with open arms, even conferring upon Jeon an honorary Libyan name, Ahmed El Maghrabi Saidi Barga.
The Orange County native, who calls the Libyan Uprising “one of the few real revolutions,” plans to return home soon enough, but not before helping the rebels take the loyalist stronghold of Sirte.
Chick reports that Jeon was not worried about the upcoming battle. “I believe in destiny,” he told her. His mother and father, on the other hand, are an entirely different matter.
“Whatever you do, don’t tell my parents,” he begged The National’s Bradley Hope. “They don’t know I’m here.”

May Allah swt be with those brave Revolutionaries in Libya. Take a second before you break your fast to make duaa for their victory in this world and in the hereafter!

I’m usually not a sucker for these sort of things but this is just adorable. Kinda of awe-ing at the fact that they could have created such a modest concept for a picture about love. Very impressive.
Also, this had me thinking that many girls nowadays are being hoodwinked to believe that because of the shortage of good Muslim brothers around that there is more reason to worry about never getting married, and although that sounds like a contradiction its not true. Allah swt got our backs; so don’t even worry. This is for my brothers too; it is so much more productive to concentrate on making the world and yourself better than focusing on this mysterious figure that society tells you is going to complete you (spoiler alter: They never really do). Allah swt will have Brother Charming (which is Prince Charming’s convert brother) enter your life at exactly the perfect time. And thats something to wait for :)
